The vision for SeeLife is to provide a tool for a broad audience, rooted in science, that supports the cultural movement of building a generation who is emotionally stronger than their predecessors and capable of thriving in adverse situations.
Cultural Shift
There is a cultural shift happening across the country. The importance of mindfulness is being recognized at astonishing levels. Business leaders, politicians, athletes and everyday Americans are partaking and the benefits are being supported in science. As this cultural shift is gaining momentum a lot of people's attention have shifted to ensure the next generation grows up with these benefits.
Our pathways
Individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD): There are recent regulations placed on the care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) called Trauma-informed Care (TIC). This means treating a whole person, taking into account past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors and treat the patient. Through a partnership with Koinonia Homes we have recognized the need for a technology that can help teach self regulation as they attempt to integrate into society.
K-5 School Aged Children: We are targeting schools for several reasons. Due to the cultural shift and a new learning domain being implemented this year in Ohio, schools are actively seeking solutions for Social Emotional Learning (SEL). For administrators this poses a problem because it is not easily measured and makes showing the state results from their efforts challenging. SeeLife solves this problem by providing a dashboard of information showing how children progress through the game with measurable data. While Ohio is one of the leaders in this space it is by no means an anomaly. There is a cultural shift nation wide taking notice to the importance of teaching children SEL.

future of seelife
Eventually we see future versions of SeeLife that target different age groups and markets such as athletics, libraries, and clinics. Biofeedback is already widely used by sports psychologists for professional athletes because they face extreme pressure situations they need to be able to play through on a daily basis. While the rest of us can barely watch while our favorite athletes face intense situations, you can be assured the pros are not paralyzed by their nerves. Unfortunately, biofeedback is expensive and typically not encouraged or even thought of as a way for junior athletes to find an edge.
Changing the conversation around Biofeedback
Part of our early vision is to change the conversation around biofeedback. This is a therapy, which comes with a connotation that it is for people who need to heal. What it truly does is make each and every one of us stronger. Nobody is free of pain or stress, and the ability to deal with stress and remain comfortable no matter the circumstance is a skill.
We see each of our markets as a vehicle to help us achieve our mission and bring awareness to the benefits everyone can receive, change the conversation around biofeedback, and raise a stronger generation that will “see life” in a better way.
